The client had a floating solar farm at a reservoir in need of inspection. However, the waters of the reservoir were murky. Hence, the client needed a solution that could gather robust data despite low visibility environmental conditions.  

Having heard of BeeX’s capabilities in inspection with Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), the company contracted BeeX to verify AUV capabilities in 3D-mapping and obtaining high-quality visual footage of inspected components.  

Launched from the company’s boat, BeeX’s AUV A.IKANBILIS obtained underwater visuals of the floating farm’s floats, mooring lines, inventor support piles, and submerged power cables. Then, for a better asset assessment, A.IKANBILIS generated a 3D point cloud visualisation of the floating farm’s piles and performed a bathymetry of the farm’s surrounding reservoir ground.
